Solar food dehydrator
A weekend. Food has to get dry, not just warm. Do not dry meat in this box.
Follow local codes and permits. Use a licensed pro where required for structural, electrical, or plumbing work. Verify every measurement before you cut.
- Build a box with a screened inlet low and an outlet high.
- Paint or set a dark sheet in the sun path.
- Slide in screen trays.
- Slice food thin.
- Bring the trays in at night.
- Jar only what is brittle-dry.
