The federal 25D residential credit ended for systems installed after December 31, 2025. Do not count on a 30 percent credit. A farm system may still have a commercial credit. Ask a tax pro. This page does not tell you what you owe.

Systems over 50 volts and grid-tie systems need a permit and usually a licensed electrician. Follow NEC 690 and 706 and the utility's interconnection rules. Never run a generator indoors. Use a transfer switch. Do not back-feed a panel.

These are example loads. Change them. Sun hours are what you enter. NREL is not connected. The math assumes 25 percent system loss and a battery used halfway. It is not an engineered design.

About 120 watt-hours a day. About 40 watts of panels. About 480 watt-hours of battery. An inverter around 7 watts. A controller around 2 amps at 24 volts.
